Get Ready for Earth Science Week

AGI’s Earth Science Week was organized to foster awareness of Earth science in education and society.

The 18th annual Earth Science Week, taking place October 11-17, will promote “Visualizing Earth Systems” through a range of activities, programs, and resources promoting awareness of the planet’s natural systems and their interactions.

AGI provides an array of K-12 Teacher Resources to incorporate Earth Science Week into their classrooms including a catalogue of activities by grade level based on Next Generation Science Standards and National Science Education Standards. The Big Ideas series also provides videos and lesson plans for nine core concepts of earth science.

Dive deeper into earth science topics with National Fossil Day (October 14) by finding fossils near you and Geologic Map Day (October 16) by learning how to read a geologic map.
