Fall Meeting General Student Travel Grant –
Applications Open 14 June 2017; Close 9 August 2017

The Fall Meeting General Student Travel Grant provides partial travel assistance to student presenters to attend Fall Meeting. Any AGU student member presenting at Fall Meeting may apply, but preference will be given to students from demographic groups who are underrepresented in the sciences.

Fall Meeting Berkner Fellowship – Travel Grant Awardees

Early career scientists and students under 35 years of age who are citizens of countries designated by the World Bank as “low” or “lower-middle” income per capita may apply this travel fellowship which covers registration, travel, boarding, and meals for Fall Meeting. Data Visualization and Storytelling Competition –
Applications Open 29 June 2017; Close 31 August 2017

This competition is open to 2 and 4 year undergraduate students and graduate students who are legal U.S. residents. The competition winners will receive travel grants funded by AGU, complimentary registration to the AGU Fall Meeting, and the opportunity to present their data visualization on the NASA Hyperwall. This AGU competition is funded by a generous grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).


David E. Lumley Young Scientist Scholarship –
Applications Open 14 June 2017; Close 9 August 2017

High school and undergraduates studying energy and environmental science will receive a student membership, a $500 travel grant to attend the AGU Fall Meeting, and a $1,000 college scholarship.


David S. Miller Young Scientist Scholarship –
Applications Open 14 June 2017; Close 9 August 2017

Undergraduate or graduate students in the Geo-Environmental Sciences and Geo-Environmental Engineering fields may apply. You do not need to attend the Fall Meeting to be eligible.


Ocean Sciences Meeting Student Travel Grant –
Applications Open 14 July 2017; Close 6 September 2017

All students who have submitted abstracts and are presenting at the meeting may apply, but preference will be given to students from races, countries, and genders which are underrepresented in the sciences.

Ocean Sciences Meeting Early Career Scientist Travel Grant –
Applications Open 14 July 2017; Close 6 September 2017

All early career scientists (within 10 years of their highest degree earned) who have submitted abstracts and are presenting at the meeting may apply, but preference will be given to applicants from races, countries, and genders which are underrepresented in the sciences.

JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting Student Travel Grant –
Applications Open 31 January 2017; Close 1 March 2017

AGU and JpGU will hold a joint meeting in Japan in 2017. Student attendees who are presenting an abstract and are traveling from outside of Japan are eligible for $1000US travel grants to the conference.

Bruno Martinelli Travel Grants –
Applications Open 31 January 2017; Close 15 April 2017

The Bruno Martinelli Fellowship provides funding for Latin American science graduate students or early career scientists to attend and present a paper on a volcano-related topic at an international conference or workshop of their choice (does not include AGU Fall Meeting).
